    First Aid

    In terms of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (Act 85 of 1993), your employer has designated you to be a first aider for your workplace or section of the workplace. As a first aider, you will be able to greatly influence your own safety and the safety of your fellow employees in the workplace.

    Why should you attend?

    Your prime function as a first aider will be to assist people on the premises in case of an emergency.

    Emergencies could include a medical emergency, a fire, an explosion, a flood or any incident which takes place in the workplace. It is therefore important that the selected staff is prepared for emergencies so that the correct procedures are followed when there is no time to hesitate.
