Understanding & Complying with the recent edition 1.3 of SANS10142-2:2023 MEDIUM VOLTAGE INSTALLATIONS. Above 1kV a.c not exceeding 22Kv a.c & up to and above 3 MVA installed capacity.

    18 – 19 June 2024

In our country today, there has been a tremendous growth of towns and cities, housing estates, shopping malls, industrial complexes, factories, hospitals and some agricultural installations requiring equipment very similar to a small industrial park. Such premises require at least one step-down medium voltage transformer and these prompted the provision of SANS10142-2. This standard is based on the requirements for the design, erection and modification of medium voltage electrical installation with nominal voltages above 1 kV a.c. not exceeding 22 kV a.c. and up to and above 3 MVA installed capacity.

The first edition of this medium voltage installation standard (SANS10142-2) was published in 2009. In order to cope with technological advancement, amendments were made to the content of Edition 1 and Edition 1.1 was published in March 2014. In May 2018, edition 1.2 was published, covering updates to referenced standards and general requirements. In 2023, edition 1.3 was published, and it now covers installation with an installed capacity above 3 MVA.

In these two days of intensive and interactive course, participants will be provided with an in-depth review of the current amendment 1.3 of SAN 10142-2:2023. The course will elaborate in detail on the referenced occupational health and safety and regulations applicable to this standard.
